This doesn't work for me. Random is auto-save, but I have never seen it
to be saved correctly.

I dislike it too. But you are missing macosx that does it to save
random/loop.

I think you are right.

Some items could be flagged as "do not save".
Moreover, variables changes in the menu 'spu-es', 'video-es' should not
be saved.

Else, I believe autosaving would be an amazing improvement for VLC. But
I believe this is beyond my skillz :D
