I wonder why bother with Symbian. I don't know any real-life Symbian device
that would have enough CPU and RAM to decode video. To make matters worse,
I understood that there is no YUV and scaling overlay in the Symbian public
API. Same goes for the DSP. I could be wrong.

Otherwise porting to Symbian seems useless... if not counter-productive: I
believe that a lack of VLC port fares better than a disappointing VLC port
with regards to the project's notoriety. Furthermore, developer time could
probably be better spent on the core or on desktop features, than on the
various mobile ports.
