   How you completed you work?  I hope you can send me your patch so I can test it in my local source tree.
   I use digest mode to receive vlc-devel messages.  The patch files are converted into attach obj files. And the binary files such as *.bmp are converted into ascii displayable characters. It's difficult for to grab them out.
