It is possible to get the patches from the mailing list archive. Go to

http://mailman.videolan.org/pipermail/vlc-devel/

You'll need to know the month and year when the message containing the
patch was sent, but after that you can search within the page for the
message subject. The thread view may help in finding the correct message.

When you open a message from the archive, it will say something.bin as
the filename for all attachments, but click on that and the web browser
should give the option of saving the file.
