[vlc-devel] How to copy custom vlc image to a new machine?

It turns out that there are a bunch of library files under /usr/lib that are also needed.

I zipped the needed files and copied to the new machine. This makes it work.

The question I have is, who copied these files in /usr/lib in the first place? Is "make install" doing this? I am trying to find an easier way to automate building the custom vlc image and copy to a different machine for testing.

Appreciate your help.

Regards,
Peter

Thank you all for your help.

The arch & libs are identical.

Does the install copy any file outside "xxx" directory? For example, /usr/lib.

Regards,
Peter

Assuming arch & libs are identical on both sides..
