In the current version, browse.xml only returns paths, so some clients
probably use these (although there are some issues with paths).
This seems like a simple way to keep pretty good backwards compatibility.
I suggest we also mark the readme that a uri is expected everywhere and that
paths will be deprecated in 1.3
At that point, we can remove path from all the output files and demand uri
in all the inputs across the http interface.
