[vlc-devel] How to fill subpicture_t object dynamically with line drawings?

For the VLC extension that I am working on, I need to dynamically create a subpicture and fill it with lines and circles. I am wondering if you can help me in understanding which graphics APIs to use for creating lines and circles and how to fill the subpicture_t structure. Perhaps there is an example I can look at that is close enough.
