[vlc-devel] VLC doesn't orchestrate the live555 plugin correctly?

Greetings:
I've been having difficulties in getting a video stream (generated by vlc
when acting as an RTSP server) to be "viewable" from a VLC instance (acting
as an RTPS client). I'm running the video traffic over an impaired IP
path... one that drops and shuffles packets.

I instrumented the live555 RTSP code so that I can view it's frame
processing for the purpose of reordering frames.

When I run the flow over the impaired IP path... as soon as a packet is
dropped... the flow seizes, the video stops. This is completely
reproducible.

When I substitute the VLC instance that's receiving the flow with
openRTSP... it works fine. I can drop, and shuffle packets and the video
flow doesn't seize.

Same live555 code in both cases.

So, it seems that VLC isn't orchestrating the live 555 library code
correctly.
