I am not accusing anyone in particular. Even I have also backported stuff a 
bit liberally. I just think it needs to stop.

People do not care about stuff being marked experimental. And even if they 
did, it does not show as "ALPHA" in the UI, so they would not know.

Historically, we have allowed new features that could not introduce 
regressions. Extending BD support during the 2.0.0 freeze would fit. But in 
2.0.1, it can regress from 2.0.0. In fact, I spotted some forum complaints 
about BD breaking in nightlies earlier today...
