[vlc-devel] Can't get the marquee to display...

Folks,

I am looking at displaying some text at different times while a movie is running. Looking at the code, I think marquee is the closest to what I need. However, I am confused on how to get the marquee to work. Under preferences, I see that the marquee text has a default value of VLC and that it is supposed to appear on the center of the video. However, I don't see anything while a movie is playing. Also, when I put a breakpoint in CreateFilter (marq.c), it never stops at the breakpoint.

I guess there is something else that need to be done to enable the marquee. I would appreciate it if someone can guide me on what I am missing.
