The patch is not 'broken'.

It's rather that OSX (BSD?) patch doesn't understand (GNU?) diff output
which doesn't consider line endings as part of the file being
diff'd/patch'd.

Also those patches were sent on the mailing list for everyone to look at.

So next time, "please at least" make your homework by testing the
patches and understanding what is the issue before making sarcastic
comments.
