It's not one bug. It's multiple bugs. And people playing should never be 
penalized for using default settings. It's really as simple as that. There is 
ample evidence in the fora, on Trac and on IRC that this is a major unfixed 
regression. It breaks multiple codecs (at least H.264, MP4V and MP2V) in a 
number of situations.

You can still enable the option manually. The point is: DEFAULT SETTINGS HAVE 
TO WORK.

Should you have a concrete and more "selective" patch, you are very very very 
welcome post it as soon as possible.
