This is *not* a work-around. The bug, wherever it lies, will still be 
triggered. Only alarms will not be fired any longer.

This is not (software) engineering.

When an electrical fuse burns, that the faulty current-leaking equipment 
should be unwired until servicing or replacement. Sure, you could simply 
bypass the fuse with a cable of larger capacity, but reality will ensue.
