[vlc-devel] New feature for a new year

Hi everybody,

I am an user of VLC media player for a long time and I decided to post here
one of the things that i have always missed.

I dont know if it will be hard or not but I propose it so you can decide it
by your own. Even if you think this new functionallity is useless or
not please tell me the reasons. When someone propose a new feature or
something similar, an analysis is required.

Here is what i propose:

When you are watching a video or just listening to music in VLC and you
want to change the video or the song, you press ctrl-O or you go
through Media->Open file. I dont think that this is bad, but maybe is not
as user-friendly as i think it should be.

I think that a new section can be added (and of course can be
hidden because maybe some people find it useless) at one of the sides of
the media player where you can navigate through your computer and open
diretly the files double-clicking. You can still watch the video or listen
to music while you are serarching your next track.

In resume, a vertical bar or section where you can navigate and open files
of your computer at the same time that the VLC is working.
