[vlc-devel] [PATCH] avoid crash where vlc.net.stat returns nil for a file (such as alias on mac os)

Hi JB,

I just re-discovered this bug. Tracked it down, fixed it, then went to
apply it in my dev code only to find that someone had already fixed it.
After learning a little about git blame, and git log - it turns out that
someone was me.

so two points
A) yes, my memory is rubbish
B) any chance of backporting this to the 2.0.x branch?

if you need me to do anything to make B easier, then please say.
