[vlc-devel] browse dialauge box using addons

I am developing an addon for vlc and I am stuck. I need my addon to display
a proper browse dialogue box from where  not only the files can be selected
but also can be manipulated. Can such a thing be done using addons?

If it is not yet possible, can someone tell me which functions can be used
by addons
(other than the readme
http://www.videolan.org/developers/vlc/share/lua/README.txt)  or can
someone give a more detailed list?

any help would be appreciated.
