Ok. I understand your point. To be honest, I haven't yet tried ubuntu 64 bits, 
but only 32 bits one, which appeared fast to me, but I am not confident with 
Debian packaging system. Sure, I'll give it a try.

Suse team may have modified the toolchain to be consistent with the filesystem's 
organization, but that's true that any filesystem's evolution is slow and heavy 
inside the distro.
