Ah, ok.  I've certainly created more than V4L ABI bug in all the years
I've been doing drivers.  These things happen.

Understood.  It still might be worth raising the issue with Hans to
see if he can pre-populate the field inside the kernel framework to
prevent such driver bugs from hitting userland.
