In fact, I quite want to generalize it. I originally wanted to enable every 
es_out_id_t to have a linked list of decoders, but I was persuaded away.

How do I extend it? I thought A vlc object can only one value.  How do I use it
to store information about a 2nd  track? An array object or something?
