Okay, I understand that you might not like the idea of adding the VLM to
the C CLI. My concern is that the VLM is not quite obsolescent enough
yet to forego that.
And there's no reason to want to go back to forcing users to open a
socket and then connect to it from a separate client just to access the
VLM shell, rather than doing it within the terminal's CLI as currently.
In 3.0 if you launch VLC with -I cli or rc, you can type `vlm` to load
the VLM and then type VLM commands right there. So that's indeed a
feature regression and missing command.

Apparently we can't even agree on what it means exactly that we decided
to fix regressions, so I'm not surprised that you would make those
claims and that we can't agree either on what it would have meant
exactly that we'd have decided to deduplicate the CLI.
