Just to provide some info on those, the uf_chain is the chain
containing the filters added by the users through the use of
"#transcode{vfilter=....}", and is followed by the final_conv
which was empty. It seemed to be a good place for the encoder
input conversion in my opinion, because you can currently
easily reset this chain if needed and it cannot break another
chain as it wasn't used before.

The chains before these ones are related to François' work on
handling input format, rotation and transformation, which
were shared on the mailing list a few month ago.
