Dear Thomas,

thanks for your reply. I am new to VLC development, hence I thought a
new module was the right thing to do. But indeed, the only difference
with the tcp module is in the Open function. If you think it's better
to have gopher as a submodule of tcp, I will have a look at submodules
and propose an alternative patch.
