[vlc-devel] Releasing 3.0.12

Hi,

There are 2 distinct problems here:

1) GL drivers don't handle the case that the window is destroyed behind their back
Mesa GL locks up. NVIDIA GL crashes/aborts. This is a well-known limitation that we've been seeing with the XCB window provider for a decade. I don't think it's in scope of 3.x-stable to address.

I don't even know if it's an actual bug in the GL drivers, in the sense that I don't know what the GL specifications require.

2) The Qt GUI destroys the video window before WindowClose(), or at least it seems to (I cannot explain the symptoms in any other way). This seems like a new problem. This is most likely not a Mesa bug.
