Why not? Surely browsers have more robust HTML parsers that can handle large 
pages. 8 MiB would be peanuts compared to the overhead of an HTML5 video 
playback pipeline.

And if you use deflate compression or such, making lines longer just to screw 
the poorly designed scrapers (including VLC) is very inexpensive and feasible.
