Hello VLC Development Team,

I have encountered an issue with VLC on Windows 11 when using two monitors in “Extend these displays” mode.

My setup is the following:

Windows 11 PC
Two monitors
Windows display mode: “Extend these displays”
VLC is opened on the main monitor
I configure the video output to be displayed on the second monitor
The problem is that everything works correctly before playback: the VLC interface (menus, controls, playlist, etc.) is visible on the main monitor.

However, as soon as I start playing a video, the video correctly appears on the second monitor, but the VLC interface disappears from the main monitor. I can no longer see the VLC window and its controls on the main screen.

Interestingly, I have the same type of setup on a Mac mini, and VLC works correctly there: the video is displayed full-screen on the second monitor while the VLC interface remains available on the main monitor.

Could you please let me know whether this is a known issue with VLC on Windows 11, and if there is a setting or workaround that would allow the VLC controls to remain visible on the primary monitor while the video is playing on the secondary monitor?
