hello,

i just got my dvd drive to work. livid was just not behaving; couldn't
compile it for beans. i stumbled onto the videolan project, downloaded the
rpm, and it worked. choppy, but it worked.

next, i downloaded the sourcecode, and enabled ggi, x11 and ppro. this
time around, the playback was fantastic. very smooth, very nice.

question - i'm assuming it was using the x11 playback mode. how do i get
the ggi playback mode?

also, is there a way to get vlc to go to full screen mode?

lastly, i'd like to do some benchmarks of vlc. i noticed a dynamic fps in
the upperright corner. for the sake of benchmarking, i need something
static, like an "average fps" for an entire file. is there a way to get
this average? i don't know how to do the benchmark otherwise.

anyway, if there are any developers here, thank you for writing such a great
piece of software.

pete

ps- i'm on a linux machine, if that makes a difference to any of my
questions.
