Can't get SDL to work

Hi,

Ibuilt vlc 0.2.72 with sdl option and still can't get the output plugin 
to load. Have you got any pointers ?

I am running RH7.0, Kernel 2.4.0, Xfree 4.0.1; SDL 1.2 on an Athlon 700 
with Riva TNT2 (32MB).

I would really appreciate the help, since I can't get decent framerates 
with X11 plugin. Thank you very much in advance.
