Don't use --enable-trace for now because it's broken. This is why you get the undefined symbols in your debug output.
You shouldn't use --enable-debug either, unless you want to use GDB (Gnu debugger) on VLC. If you don't use --enable-debug, you will still have debug messages anyway (with -vvv option).

If you still have segfaults after that, then there is a problem.
