Thanks, a lot of work later, I've got it running with acceleration, and it's 
excellent.

Incidentally, while I'm emailing, vlc segfaults when trying to read "The 
Wedding Singer" region 2 disk (serial no. EDV9016) Anything I can do to get 
diagnostics to help?
