video quality problem

The problem you are describing is "not really" a problem. It´s just that some DVDs haven´t been designed to be displayed on computer screens (which uses a progessive scan technology to display the image) but they have been designed for TV screens (which uses a interlaced scan technology).

PowerDVD uses some tricks to reduce this interlacing effect but the VideoLan client doesn´t yet. This is why you get a better quality with PowerDVD. There has been some discussion a few months ago about implementing one, but nobody has done it yet.
