First of all, hello and thank you to everybody involved.
[common header]
vlc is the first DVD player, which worked partly for me under Linux/ia32.
This is far more, than most of the others, I tested until now.
[\common header]
Both, release version 0.2.83 and current CVS is able to play the first
0.23:19 of my abyss dvd. Playing stops always at end of chapter 11.
The dvd contains two streams, on with 54 chapters, the other with 45.
Trying to go to further chapters fail, no matter which stream.
this is the abyss dvd layout:

May be this shows the crux:
dvd info: title: 1
vobstart at: 96608 blocks
stream size: 574000 blocks
number of chapters: 54
number of angles: 1
dvd info: video
compression: mpeg-2
tv system: pal 625/50 Hz
aspect ratio: 4:3
display mode: not specified
line21-1:
line21-2:
source res: 720x480 ntsc or 720x576 pal
letterboxed: no
mode: camera
The stream size could be related to one file. The slider is scaled to
ca. 23 min. I assume, the slider scales to the full playtime, not the
position inside the current file, under normal conditions.
Any suggestions?
The only other disturbing point are regular horizontal stripes in strong
moving parts of the screen, independant from output and display mode.
Hardware: AMD Athlon 1.2 GHz, 384 MB, Linux 2.4.5 (diskless ;-)
If I can provide any further details, let me know.
Cheers,
Hans-Peter
