fine lines when movement occurs

Hi all,

I'm using an Athlon 1G with 512 megs of RAM, with an Nvidia GE Force 2
GX. I'm also using vlc 0.2.83.

When watching any dvd, I notice that at any part of the screen, where
there is movement, fine horizontal lines (same colour as subject which
is moving) can be observed. Other parts of the screen which do not
move are fine.

Any ideas how to solve this?
