can not read dvd:/dev/hdc

Hi all,

I sucessfully build vlc in my redhat 7.2, and I am very glad to find that it
works very well with mpeg2 and mpeg1 files.

But I have a problem in playing dvd:
After I click the 'disk' button and tell vlc the dvd device is /dev/hdc, vlc
complains can not find the module to access dvd device, then I changed
permission of /dev/hdc to '777', but it shows same error msg.

If get this dvd mounted in my filesystem and let vlc play the video files,
it works well.

What wrong with it?
