best config for osx

Hi,

I wanted to update to 0.2.92 tonight and just tried the usual 
./configure and make... for my titanium powerbook g4 running osx 10.1.2

soon enough I realised I have to disable gtk in order to make it 
compilable.. now I just wanted to know:
what are the recommended configurations for best results in osx?
who has been successfully running vlc on a pbg4?
