  Did you build libdvdcss module as well (you must have the devel
package to achieve this) ?

  Read the content of the "message" window to find out which modules vlc
could actually load.  Errors there should give you a hint on what's wrong.

  If you have a good computer, you might find simpler to d/l the binary
packages instead.
