I haven't used this in a while, but
checking it out today I have problems
with later versions of CVS for vls.
The one for May 29 works with today's
CVS for vlc multicast using:
vlc udpstream:@239.2.12.42:1234
This is on a Redhat 7.1 or 7.2 system
(I swear I upgraded to 7.2, but it says
7.1 in places) using 2.4.19-pre9 kernel.
I've seen problems with this kernel -
2.4.19-rc1 fixed some things, looks like
rc2 has now been released but it doesn't
look like anything really important for me
was changed - and RedHat 7.3
seemed to fix a few other problems I had
with other video programs.
I think you can use:
cvs update -D20020529
to try out that earlier version of vls.
