Problem compiling VLC

   I'm not sure, but I think GNU make is a must-have. You may try to
replace all occurences of ":=" with "=" in Makefile, Makefile.modules
and Makefile.opts.in, but that will be much slower and I'm not sure
it'll even work. Please report any success though :-)
