video display problem

I am having problems displaying
the 'presentation_short.vob'

in vlc.

The picture looks scrambled (diagonal from top left to bottom right).

I do not see any errors in the message display.

I have check the FAQ and documentation, but could not find a solution.
Any suggestions?


Environment:

Kde
Linux (Slackware)
ATI Radeon Mobility M6  16Meg
Intel 1.8 gig, 256 Meg mem.
