Sam,

I built vlc without any GUI so the rc is active on startup. The console message says "rc: remote control interface initialized, `h' for help" but will not except any commands I type in via the kbd. I admit I'm running on windoze but am I missing something...

When launched with "-I rc" vlc listens to stdin for commands and
writes information to stdout. The only documentation about how it works
is the source code, however. Is there anything specific you are trying
to do with this feature?
