Hi,

I have exactly the same problem. Even streaming audio (mp3) doesn't work
smooth. Every few seconds sound stops and I get the output:

And the video stops for a moment.

Both vlc 0.5.3 run on Linux 2.4.20, the receiving vlc uses xvideo and
oss.
