VLC is heavily threaded so yes it will benefit from hyperthreading. However, 
the video decoding itself is done in only one thread so this part (which is 
useally the most processor intensive part) won't see its performance 
increased. Still you should really see a benefit by running on an 
smp/hyperthreaded system.
