hi all,

i have 2 difficulties compiling vlc under redhat 9:

1, trying to compile v4l-support into vlc-snapshot with --enable-v4l the
configure-output says:
checking for libv4l/v4l.h usability... no
checking for libv4l/v4l.h presence... no
checking for libv4l/v4l.h... no
so i checked for the file myself and there is not even the folder libv4l

2, compiling with
--enable-ffmpeg=/usr/local/bin
or
--enable-ffmpeg-tree=/usr/local/src/ffmpeg-cvs-2003-04-24
gives me no error-message but also doesn't show up in the configure-output.
i guess it should.

i can play mpeg1 and mpeg2 files fine, but when i try either divx5- or
xvid-files i get:
main decoder error: no suitable decoder for fourcc 'XVID' (or 'DX50')

using mplayer i can play these files using ffmpeg, so i guess it doesn't get
compile into vlc somehow.

can anybody help?

my regards,
/jc
