As a matter of fact, I've also made my tests at work, so I wan't be able
to run any further tests until monday neither ;-)

Well,  same machine,  same drivers.  However, maybe  I've been  mistaken
and  I've  had   the  configure  script  look  for  the   headers  in  a
linuxtv-1.0.0-pre3 directory (while drivers are pre1)

Moreover,  I've  already have  some  stability  issues on  that  server.
Perhaps VLC has nothing to do about it ;-)
