[vlc] stream statistics and testing

Can vlc be made to report statistics on video quality as it is receive
from the network?  We need to do some testing/demonstration of a
wireless ad-hoc routing protocol we developed and the requirements call
for proving that we can support a certain level of quality at the
receiver.  Statistics we are looking for are:

lost/errored/good receive packets
transmitted frame rate
receive frames per second
receive BW

These stats are available in real player, but it doesn't seem like we
can stream from vlc or vls to real player.
