[vlc] VLC 0.5.1 broken on OS X

Hello,

VLC 0.5.0 works great apart from playing encrypted DVDs (see my 
previous post .. no reply yet), but surprisingly VLC 0.5.1 opens with 
the menu set to Japanese!

I tried changing it in Preferences but then the application 
unexpectedly quit. Bizarre :(

Hint anyone? Do I have to trash my configuration files from the 
previous VLC install?
