   It may be because 1600x1200 doesn't leave enough memory in your video
card to store the overlay. To get convinced, try the "-V x11" flag, you
should get a slower framerate but a full picture. My guess is also that
you'll get a full picture by decreasing your screen depth (24->16 or
16->8).
