[vlc] wmv files

I have a .wmv video file and it plays fine on Windows w/0.5.3, however when
streamed it loses the audio.  Is this a known problem?

Also,  is there a way I can stream this to a file and change the format from
.wmv to mpeg4 or a format that QT or Realplayer would be able to play? If
so, what is the command sequence to accomplish this?
