[vlc] sound problems with 0.6.0

 Hello, I recently installed vlc 0.6.0 on my imac 333 
and have no sound playing any type of file. Version
0.5.3 works with the sound but is not fast enough to
play dvd's on my machine. I have tried several setting
but have not been able to get anything to work? Anyone
have any ideas?
