[vlc] vlc and disk buffering

Hey all, sorry for the crosspost!  

I'm using vlc  to stream a file (stored  on my HDD) across the network
to another  vlc.   Does  vlc do  any  disk  buffering, or  is  all the
buffering done in RAM?
