Sorry I have no idea! If it's not too hard, maybe you guys can make a few
versions and I can test it on a few AAC decoders to see if anything works!

I asked the AAC press-through function because the current AAC decoding in
vlc can't handle multi-channel AAC (or at least those from Japanese BSD HDTV
ts source). It plays the center channel as the left channel and totally mess
up the overall downmix! And nowaday more and more programs are in
multi-channel format. If there is a AAC press-through then I can use an
external AAC decoder/AV amp (very common in Japan and maybe Asian area) to
get correct AAC5.1 decoding.
